Expocafé exists because of Colombia's coffee-grower cooperatives. Our coffee — and our purpose — comes from the producer organisations and the national institutions that support Colombian coffee, from research and quality to trade and origin protection.
A cooperative model that supports the grower
As the export arm of the cooperatives, working collectively is in our nature. The cooperative network gives smallholder growers scale, services and a route to market, while national institutions safeguard the quality and reputation of Colombian coffee. Together they make a transparent, traceable supply chain possible.
Coffee-grower cooperatives
Colombia's regional coffee-grower cooperatives are the base of our supply — buying, gathering and preparing members' coffee and giving smallholders a fair, organised route to the export market.
Federación Nacional de Cafeteros (FNC)
The National Federation of Coffee Growers represents Colombia's coffee farmers and protects the Café de Colombia origin and its standards worldwide.
Cenicafé
The National Coffee Research Centre develops the science — varieties, agronomy and quality — that keeps Colombian coffee productive, resilient and distinctive.
International Coffee Organization (ICO)
The intergovernmental body for the global coffee sector, working on sustainability, data and cooperation across producing and consuming nations.
Specialty Coffee Association (SCA / SCAA / SCAE)
The global specialty-coffee community that sets cupping protocols and standards Expocafé uses to evaluate and present specialty lots.
Analdex & the export community
Colombia's foreign-trade association and the wider export community that supports compliant, professional shipping of Colombian coffee to the world.
