Overview
Excelso refers to Colombian washed Arabica prepared to standard export screen sizes (broadly screen 14–16, with tolerances). It is the most widely traded Colombian grade and the backbone of blends and single-origin offerings around the world, prized for a clean, sweet, balanced profile with medium body and bright but rounded acidity.
We supply Excelso in the common trade preparations — EP (European Preparation) and UGQ (Usual Good Quality) — and to specific screen and defect specifications on request. Sourced through the grower cooperatives, it is fully traceable to the regions it comes from.
Excelso is available as a consistent year-round program drawing on Colombia's main and mitaca harvests, and can be supplied conventional or certified (Rainforest Alliance, UTZ, Fairtrade, organic) subject to availability.

What is the difference between Excelso and Supremo?
Both are 100% washed Colombian Arabica; the difference is bean size. Excelso covers smaller screen sizes (broadly 14–16), while Supremo is the large-screen grade (17/18). Cup quality depends on origin and preparation more than screen alone.
What does EP and UGQ mean?
EP (European Preparation) and UGQ (Usual Good Quality) are standard Colombian export preparations defined by screen size and defect tolerances; EP is the tighter, premium preparation.
